Occasionally, I am asked to do a job where I don't actually build something. The owners of this new house needed to cut a flat side off these cypress logs that were to be installed onto a ceiling inside. The simplest way to do this is on-site using a chainsaw and a straight edge, just as I would with any log I find too large to haul back to the workshop.
