This is the original cypress woodwork on this 1930 house. The golden hue is just right for the front door, provided it's varnish is renewed every few years. In this case the finish was not maintained and required us to remove the old, dried out finish, clean and bleach the raw wood, sand, seal and apply eight coats of marine-grade varnish. A bright finish like this is only feasible when the area is shaded from direct sunlight. It is a rare thing to see an entrance in this condition. It speaks of a proud homeowner.
